Call for DLA Posters

Submission Notice for the DLA 2017 Student poster Competition

If your passion is fueled by experimental communication of your work, while exploring the boundaries of three dimensional digital landscapes, then My 3D Landscape Student Poster competition provides you with the opportunity you seek! As a part of the DLA Conference 2017, we are inviting landscape architecture students or recent graduates of landscape architecture programs to showcase your work. Submit your poster with your best 3D (or 4D) Landscape Architecture visualization and get a chance to win cash prize.

1st Prize: 500 €
2nd Prize: 300 €
3rd-7th Prize: 250 € travel grant each (International participants)
8th-10th prize: 3 x Laubwerk Plant Kits ( 149 €/kit)
10th-25th Prize: Esri Press Book + Wichmann publication
All posters will be exhibited and published.

Special discount is available for all participants and free access to the conference.
Landscape Architecture Students enrolled outside of Germany with the 5 best online posters will receive a research travel grant of 250 € each to join the conference by online evaluation.

By May 10th, you will receive the notice if your poster contribution has been selected for one of the five travel grants. Therefore, those applicants wishing to be considered for the travel grants must submit their poster contribution by May 10th, 09:00 AM (Berlin MEZ)

You will receive this grant at the registration desk. The contributors receiving the travel grant will also be a part of the exhibition evaluation and stand a chance to win one of our winning prizes.

Final evaluation by the Conference participants by June 9, 14oo hrs.
Anhalt University of Applied sciences enrolled students winning the first prize, will get a reduction in prize by 200 €. (As a compensation of not having to pay for travel). A jury is deciding on the final distribution of the prize money. The vote for the poster competition is done by each participants of the conference has one voucher to vote on the poster of their choice.

Evaluation Criteria for the Online Poster Competition are:

  • Design Quality
  • Complexity and Innovation
  • Presentation Quality

The contributors of online poster submissions for the DLA are invited to attend the conference free of charge.
However, you need to register at
as student. Your qualified online poster submission is waiving your conference fee.

Your potential focus on Video / 4D We are asking you to contribute a poster in A1 portrait format as pdf file. For the online evaluation and online presentations, you may additionally include active links to videos or applications on one of the video platforms.

STUDENT or GRADUATE STATUS - Contributions of authors who have finished their landscape architecture education more than 1 years ago may contribute, but will not be eligible for receiving a price. Their poster will be evaluated as a contribution outside the formal competition.


We will also help you find student accommodations.
The printed paper version of posters must be hung up by the contributors on the evening of June 7th or in the morning on June 8th. Pins and boards are provided. The evaluation of the posters will be done by the conference participants.

The participants will have an evaluation sheet with the technical information you have submitted on the review system, and the design of the presented poster.
The prize money will be awarded only after personal presentation on June 10, 2017 in Bernburg.

A jury is deciding on the final distribution of the prize money.
We have the right to exclude posters from the exhibition and publications which do not meet the minimum criteria.
